Mr. Hayes has been practicing architecture, as a licensed architect, for over thirty-two years. He is founder and president of Hayes Group Architects, a Redwood City-based architecture, interiors and planning firm. He and his firm have designed projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including projects for technology companies, financial services companies, private equity firms, commercial developers and homeowners. Many of his commercial projects can be found in Palo Alto and Menlo Park where he and his firm have had a strong presence since 1991, having worked on over 200 projects.

A maker and problem solver by nature, Jeff’s approach to architecture is rooted in the devotion to detail and a broad knowledge of building materials and systems. His early career included hands-on construction experience, with field work in the carpentry, architectural concrete, steel and finish trades. His intimate familiarity with building materials, construction methodologies and the realities of the construction process set him apart from his peers, enabling him both to lead design projects to success, and partner effectively with clients and builders alike.

Anu joined Hayes Group in 2004. She was promoted to a Senior Associate in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from NIT, Trichy, India and Master of Technology from IIT, Madras, India. She is a LEED AP and manages sustainability and green building aspects of all Hayes Group Projects. Several of her projects have been awarded LEED Gold and LEED Silver USGBC certifications. She is a member of the Palo Alto Green Building Technical Advisory Committee that has been instrumental in writing the city’s Green Building ordinance.

Silvia received her Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and is a registered Architect. Silvia has over 20 years of experience in various types and sizes of projects, including corporate interiors for technology firms and venture capital firms, master plan and code analysis for large scale corporate campus, commercial building shells, and mixed-use buildings.

Terry Murphey joined Hayes Group Architects in 2004 and was promoted to Associate in 2016. He’s managed a wide variety of projects including office tenant improvements, labs, new commercial core & shell structures, and seismic rehabilitations. Terry is a Certified Accessibility Specialist and cares deeply about making design usable for everyone. He served as president of the San Mateo County chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2013 and remains very involved in professional enrichment. He has a bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is a registered Architect.
